WHZJU holds Health Education Activities for Foreign Residents in Hangzhou

On June 5, Women, Children and Youth Health Promotion Activities for Foreign Residents was held online and offline at Women’s Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, bringing together the ob-gyn health experts, physicians, and over 30 foreign residents together to explore how public hospitals could be better prepared for international medical needs. As an event under the framework of WHZJU’s international hospital construction plan, the activities aimed to make contributions to the call for more caring and more considerate international medical services.

Jointly hosted by Department of Women's Health Care and International Affairs Office, and supported by Obstetrics Department, General Gynecology Department, Gynecologic Oncology Department and Reproductive Genetics Department, the activities were composed of lectures on health education and hospital service introduction by health experts, panel discussion, and O&A sessions. The foreign participants exchanged perspectives on diverse topics ranging from and healthcare experiences in Hangzhou hospitals, HPV vaccine and prevention of cervical cancer to future international collaboration. They all agreed that the activities provided a great opportunity for them to learn a lot about women healthcare, and they would be more willing to choose public hospitals as they saw public hospitals have made progress in delivering high-quality international medical services.

The activities strictly followed the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, including epidemic prevention and control notification, and the health code and temperature checking. All foreign participants invited were those who had studied and worked in Hangzhou for a long time. Hospital volunteers also provided assistance with the activities.
