Reproductive Endocrinology Team of WHZJU Attends 39th ESHRE Annual Meeting
June 25th to June 28th of 2023 have witnessed the 39th Annual Meeting of the European Society for Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE) ,held in Copenhagen, Denmark. A 6-member delegation from the WHZJU Reproductive Endocrinology department, lead by Prof. Yimin Zhu, attended this conference to present their most recent accomplishments and to interact with overseas peers.
Dr. Mingyue Tang gave an oral presentation titled "Metabolic characteristics of offspring born to women with polycystic ovary syndrome in childhood" at the conference. Prof. Yimin Zhu was in charge of the oral presentation. The study focused on the health problems of offspring with polycystic ovary syndrome, with emphasis on the abnormal lipid metabolism in the offspring during childhood, implying the long-term negative effects of polycystic ovary syndrome on the offspring.
Prof. Yimin Zhu was interviewed by "Obstetrics and Gynecology Online" at the conference venue, and shared the key academic contents of ESHRE 2023. Academic contents were compiled and shared, and academic hotspots and recent developments were examined through the eyes of experts. Prof. Yimin Zhu presented the research of her team on the health of children with polycystic ovary syndrome and emphasized the impact of parents' preconception status on the health of children. She also called for active attention to the safety of assisted reproduction offspring.
Dr. Liu Juan presented a poster presentation on "GM-CSF drives endometrial repair via p-STAT3 mediating angiogenesis", which was under the supervision of Prof. Zhang Dan. Two other PhD students of Prof. Zhang Dan, Yifeng Lin and Yue Ying, and one postdoctoral student, Yan-Yun Ying, gave their poster presentations on "Basonuclin 1 prevents intrauterine growth restriction via inhibiting necroptosis ", "Embryo vitrification affects the epigenome of preimplantation embryos and the effects are inherited by the female offsprings" and " Long photoperiod exposure results in glycometabolism disorder in the cumulus-oocyte complex in SD rats". The poster presentation. The elaborate electronic poster with novel ideas, concise text and beautiful pictures of the results was also actively clicked and viewed by the participants.
All participants also listened attentively to the reports of various academic experts in this meeting, which broadened their horizons and motivated their academic inspiration. International professionals and academics have consistently praised reproductive endocrinology department's research accomplishments and expertise.
ESHRE annual meeting is the largest and most influential international conferences in the field of reproductive medicine, bringing together experts and scholars from reproductive medicine, embryology, endocrinology and genetics to discuss the most recent research findings, controversies, and future directions of development.
