Department Introduction

Gynecological outpatient day surgery center is affiliated with the department of outpatient and emergency.  Our highly trained medical professionals perform 12-14 surgeries per day, and so far we have conducts more than5,000 procedures since October 2015. Our center provides a convenient and service-oriented alternative, as well as high quality care in a warm, personalized setting for patients who need daily surgery instead of an overnight stay.

Outpatient day surgery center consists of three units: 

·Day surgery unit, which provides preoperative outpatient care, postoperative follow-up and medical consultation. 

·Nursing unit, which is in charge of perioperative education and preparation.

·Day-care unit, which is for transitory post-operative observation

The facilities of operating suites of the outpatient day surgery are the same as those of inpatient department, which allows surgeons to perform procedures in the general gynecology areas of:

·Hysteroscopy (GradeⅠ-Ⅳ)

·Laparoscopy (Surgery of adnexal and uterine fibroids)

·Cervical conization

·Surgery of benignvulvovaginal diseases 

Staff Members ofoutpatient day surgery center are highly-qualified and trained physicians who are specialists in minimal invasive gynecological surgery fields:

Currently, our center serves more than 1000 outpatients (including preoperative and postoperative) and 250 patients of day-surgery per month. Outpatient day surgery service has greatly shortened hospital stay, reduced the incidence of hospital acquired infections, maximized the use of medical resources, and minimized costs (the cost of hysteroscopy is 3,500-4,500 RMB, whilelaparoscopyis 9,000-11,000 RMB for each patient, which is approximately 2,000 RMB less than that for the inpatient).

The outpatient day surgery center has formulated various management protocols, diagnostic and therapeutic guidelines, and contingency plans. Regular conference of medical quality control is held per month. Thanks to the low morbidity and low hospitalization rate after surgery, we have received high satisfaction from patients.
