Introduction of Antenatal Assessment Unit
1.About Us
The Women’s Hospital Antenatal Assessment Unit is a division of Obstetrics with a faculty of eleven. Our clinical and research team is a leader in advancing such health concerns as perinatal monitoring. The Department of Antenatal Assessment Unit has earned its reputation as an national leader in fetal monitoring by:
•Furthering the discipline and sharing our research discoveries nationwide to improve clinical outcomes.
•Expanding knowledge of women's health through basic and clinical research, educating patients and training young clinicians and nurses.
2.Treatment & Service
Our comprehensive antenatal services include:
•General Antenatal Assessment division provides routine prenatal examination for fetuses.
•Specialty Antenatal Assessment division provides advanced assessment for fetuses who require intensive care, including remote fetal heart monitoring. The high-risk fetuses can get safe and reliable fetal heart monitoring at home.
3.The Milestone of Expertise
The Antenatal Assessment Unit has been the site of important advances in antenatal assessment , milestones include:
•Development of non-invasive fetal heart monitoring, enabling physicians to more safely and accurately detect fetal distress during labor;
•One of the first to investigate Intrauterine behavior and fetal cognition by real time cardiotocograph and ultrosound.
4.Education & Training
Our faculty are nationally recognized leaders in the field. Our post-graduate education program is aimed at assuring the graduate physician more safely and accurately detect fetal distress during labor;
Educating pregnant women by expanding knowledge of fetal monitoring.
5.Research
Researchers in the Antenatal Assessment Unit are dedicated to advancing all aspects of fetal monitoring.
Our primary areas of research include antental assessment by cardiotocograph, umbilical artery blood flow and fetal electrocardiogram, reserach of Intrauterine behavior.
Our research centers conduct both basic science and clinical research to explore fetal monitoring conditions. Physicians work together to investigate examing strategies, and analyze outcomes associated with these conditions to optimize diagnosis for our fetuses.
6.Others
Clinical and scientific research work focuses on antenatal assessment by cardiotocograph. The lab was one of the first to investigate Intrauterine behavior and
fetal cognition by real time cardiotocograph and ultrosound.
