Introduction of Obstetrics Unit 6
1.About us
Established in 2016, Obstetrics Unit 6 is a young obstetric unit featured with exquisite medical technology, strong academic atmosphere, high quality service, elegant environment and strong cohesiveness. Currently, we have 4 obstetrics experts, 10 young doctors and almost 30 medical staff who are full of passion in delivering medical care and in conducting research. Equipped with 67 beds, we received patients from all over the country, and deliver more than 3,000 babies annually. We have experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, from common to complex. We specialized in pregnancy hypertension disease, twins, prenatal medicine and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy etc. It has been built into an advanced department integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, health care and diseases prevention.
2. Treatment and Service
We have rich experience in diagnosing and treating a wide range of pregnant and obstetric conditions, from common to complex, especially in pregnancy hypertension disease, twins, prenatal medicine and intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, obstetric complications and comorbidities etc.
Delivery
The experts of our unit work in multidisciplinary teams to develop an individualized treatment plan for each patient after a thorough evaluation with the latest diagnostic technology. The team includes physicians, surgeons, proceduralists, certified nurse midwives, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, sonographers, embryologists and a dedicated nursing team. Gynecologists and obstetricians also collaborate with experts in nearly every specialty to deliver effective, personalized care. This collaboration helps to ensure the treatment plan is tailored to needs and conditions of the patient.
Diagnosis and treatment of various obstetric complications and comorbiditiesAll experts in our unit have accumulated abundance experience in patient management and clinical treatment of various obstetric complications and comorbidities. The Director Xiu-jun Han has carried out systematic research and clinic treatment of early onset preeclampsia for more than ten years., and many seriously ill pregnant women have been given hope and opportunities to become mothers.
Prenatal screening and prenatal diagnosis
Based on the concept of “fetus is a patient”, our unit conducts prenatal screening and prenatal diagnosis, and some sick fetuses are properly treated in the uterus, or treated promptly after birth.

Academic Status:
The director Xiu-jun Han has conducted deep research of perinatal medicine and fetal medicine. She is now a member of China Medical Education Association maternal and child health management Specialized Committee, a young member of the National Hypertensive Research Center, a member of the excellent expert guidance group in Zhejiang eugenics. She has presided over several scientific research projects including the projects of Zhejiang Natural Science Fund. She has published many papers in SCI journals and domestic medical core journals, and participated in the compilation or edition work.
