Zhejiang Province Key Discipline Construction Team for Medical Innovation (Gynecology Minimally Invasive)

Overview:

Gynecologic Minimally Invasive Research and Development Team focuses on the minimally invasive treatment of general gynecology and the clinical and basic research of endometriosis/adenomyosis. The team has a wealth of talents, including 8 chief physicians, 5 associated chief physicians, 2 doctoral supervisor. Over the years, the team has obtained great achievements in basic, clinical and translational research. Professor Zhang Xin-mei, the team leader, launches a sub-project of national key program, 5 general programs of National Natural Science Foundation of China, published more than 100 papers (including more than 50 SCI papers)，and participates in the edition of endometriosis guidelines and expert consensus of Chinese Medical Association, taking the lead in diagnosis and treatment of endometriosis. The team has also improved the clinical care of gynecologic minimally invasive and endoscopic surgery, including laparoendoscopic single-site surgery(LESS), laparoscopic radical resection of deep infiltrating endometriosis and other advanced mini-invasive technology. The innovative double flap suture method of adenomyosis reserves women’s fertility and relieves clinical symptoms effectively; accompanied with long-term follow-up and overall management of the patients, this new surgical strategy achieves great success in clinical performance.
