Zhejiang Province Medical Key Discipline Innovation Discipline Construction Team (Perinatal Nursing)

Team Leader: Chief Nurse Xu Xin-fen

Overview:

The team consists of 2 chief nurses and 5 associate chief nurses, among which 1 are doctoral supervisors. The team serves as chief editor and co-editor of 27 books. We attach great importance to the cultivation of professional talents, sending nurses abroad for further study and academic exchanges. We have provides continuing education programs for over 600 perinatal clinical nurses, maternal-child nursing specialized program for 349 nurses from more than 20 provinces, midwife standardized trainings for 146 trainees. We have supervised 4 doctoral students and over 30 master students.

We have published more than 150 papers in core journals, including over 10 SCI papers. We have 1 program of National Natural Science Foundation of China, 5 provincial programs, 1 major project jointly constructed by the province and the ministry, and over 50 departmental projects, with the current research fund of over 3 million RMB, obtaining 7 utility patents.

The research interests include:

1. The research and development of key midwifery technologies of natural birth: to relieve labor pain and reduce the incidence of dystocia, to improve delivery outcome, to reduce cesarean section rate and promote natural birth;

2.  The technological innovation, optimization and development of developmental nursing for premature infants: to improve the survival rate of premature infants and promote the development of immune function and nervous system in premature infants.

3.  Demonstration and promotion of an integrated normative scheme for exclusive breastfeeding: to carry out research and development of clinical practices for the difficult breastfeeding, and to establish prefecture-level promotion and demonstration bases and education and training systems so as to promote the application in the province and even the whole country.
