Dr. Jiale Qin attended the 16th Asia Pacific Congress in Maternal Fetal Medicine
August 17-18, 2023, Dr. Jiale Qin participated virtually at the 16th Asia Pacific Congress in Maternal Fetal Medicine. The congress was hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong & Prince of Wales Hospital in Vietnam. Obstetrics and gynecology experts and scholars from all over the world were invited to attend this conference. It is an academic celebration covering obstetrics, genetics, ultrasound and radiology.
Dr. Jiale Qin gave an oral presentation titled “Ultrasound Detection before 11 Weeks of Gestation is Important for Distinguishing Complete and Partial Hydatidiform Mole with Coexistent Fetus: A Comparative Research with 61 Patients” . The study focused on the differential diagnosis of twin pregnancies with complete hydatidiform mole and coexisting fetus (CHMCF) and singlet pregnancy with partial hydatidiform mole and coexisting fetus (PHMCF) on the routine work of ultrasound. The conclusion was that it is important for ultrasound exam before 11 gestational weeks with the high diagnostic accuracy. Distinguishing CHMCF cases at this point, particularly noting the survival chance for the fetus, is an essential point for clinical management of partial mole pregnancies.
