Gynecology Team of WHZJU Attends the 12th Asian Congress on Endometriosis (ACE) 2024

The 12th Asian Congress on Endometriosis (ACE) 2024 was held from September 19th to 21th, 2024 in the beautiful island--Bali, Indonesia, which is referred as “The Island of The Gods”. Gynecologists and scholars from all over Asia, including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia,Jordan, Iran, Singapore, etc and even from France，Italy and Russia, were invited to attend this gorgeous conference. The theme of this conference was “Embracing personalized medicine in Endometriosis: from prevention, diagnosis and treatment”.

Many Chinese Gynecologists and Researchers attended this congress and participated in different sessions with their gorgeous presentations. Professor Xinmei Zhang from the department of Gynecology, Women’s Hospital, School of Medicine, Zhejiang University delivered a presentation titled "Evaluation of the efficacy and safety of mifepristone in the treatment of painful adenomyosis" in Chinese Session. Professor Zhang pointed out that mifepristone was an effective drug in treating symptomatic adenomyosis patients, including decreasing pain VAS score, reducing the volume of the uterus and elevating the level of hemoglobin, but large-scale of RCT study was still needed to prove the preliminary result, especially to access side effects. Experts discussed intensely after each attractive topics, and Doctor Ping Xu also attended the Q&A part, and discussed about clinical study of conservative laparoscopic surgery of adenomyomectomy.

Furthermore, Doctor Ping Xu, from gynecological team led by Professor Zhang presented their clinical research by Poster, the research was about the clinical usage of indocyanine green(ICG) in endometriosis patients, including precisely identifying endometriosis lesions, evaluating blood supply of bowel and ureter, and ureter labelling, etc.

The experts all over the world, during the conference, expressed their novel studies and new theories, main concerns about endometriosis and adenomyosis. New achievements and outstanding techniques were fully explored in ACE and we achieved advanced academic ideas and clinical skills, which would help us move on in future scientific researches and clinical practices.

Through this conference, our hospital's international reputation has been further enhanced, and its academic status and professional influence have been strengthened.
