Ultrasound Team of WHZJU Attends the 34th International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG)
From September 14th to 18th, 2024, the 34th International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) World Congress was successfully held in Budapest, Hungary. Five experts from the Women's Hospital,School of Medicine, Zhejiang University, participated in the conference and made significant contributions through their presentations.
Since its inception in 1991, ISUOG has grown to include over 15,700 members across 140 countries, dedicated to improving women’s health through high-quality education, standards setting, and dissemination of research. This year’s congress focused on the latest advancements in ultrasound technology in gynecology and obstetrics, especially the prospective applications of artificial intelligence in gynecological ultrasound. The conference featured in-depth discussions on the diagnosis and treatment of uterine and ovarian tumors, pelvic pain, endometriosis, as well as specialized topics such as fetal echocardiography, congenital heart diseases, and more.
At the congress, Professor Jiale, Qin’s paper, “Ultrasound Radiomics for Differentiating Borderline from Epithelial Ovarian Cancer, Compared with Intraoperative Frozen Section Analysis,” was highlighted in the “Top Abstracts” session. The session was immediately followed by the opening ceremony, showcasing our institution’s research accomplishments in the field of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The "Top Abstracts" session includes the five highest-rated abstracts of the congress, led by the chair of the scientific committee and judged by its members. Professor Qin was the only Chinese scholar received this honor, significantly enhanced the international visibility and impact of the Ultrasound department of WHZJU.
Yimin, Zhou’s paper, “Cervical Elastography in First and Second Trimester: Assessing Cervical Remodeling and Predicting Preterm Birth,” was also presented during the “Screening for Pregnancy Complications III Obstetrics Short Oral Presentations” session, sparking extensive discussion among the experts. Additionally, research by Director Jiang,Zhu, Director Junmei, Wang and Vice Director Xiaodong Wu were displayed in electronic poster format.
During the conference, our delegates exchanged cutting-edge research findings with international peers and discussed the possibilities of participating in global multicenter clinical studies. Experts also engaged in direct dialogues with editors from leading journals during the “Face-to-Face with Editors” sessions, enhancing the quality of their papers. Overall, the conference provided a vibrant academic atmosphere, with lively discussions and invaluable learning experiences for all attendees.
